WELLNESS INSIGHTS

Faith and Wellness: A Fellowship Gathering That Changed Lives

Reflections After Our First Health Fellowship: What a Blessing!

I just got home from our church’s very first health fellowship gathering, and I had to write while it’s still fresh in my heart. When Pastor Mike asked me to help organize this ministry, I was nervous. Would people think talking about supplements and cellular health was too “worldly”? Would anyone even come? But the Lord showed up in such a beautiful way.

Fifty people came. Fifty! And not just the usual “health-conscious” folks. Brother Bill brought his oxygen tank, saying he wanted to learn anything that could help him breathe easier. Young Sarah came with a notebook, taking notes for her mom who couldn’t attend. Even Deacon Frank showed up—though at first, he sat in the back row with his arms crossed.

The turning point came when Sister Margaret shared her story. She hadn’t planned to speak, but when I mentioned how many of us feel too tired to serve, she stood up. With tears in her eyes, she told us how she’d been praying about having enough energy to keep teaching Sunday school. She was ready to quit after 30 years because she simply couldn’t keep up with the children anymore.

Then her daughter found information about NAD+, the molecule our cells use for energy, which naturally declines as we age. Margaret started taking LordSay® Liposomal Nicotinamide Riboside two months ago. She said, “I’m not bouncing off the walls like I’m twenty, but I can teach my class without needing a three-hour nap afterward.”

When she said that, I saw Deacon Frank lean forward. His wife has also been struggling with exhaustion while teaching preschool Sunday school.

Dr. Chen, one of our congregation’s physicians, explained the science in a way everyone could understand. She said NAD+ is like fuel for our cellular “power plants” (mitochondria) and helps repair DNA. When someone asked if this was just a fad, she pointed to published studies showing how NAD+ support can improve energy and cellular repair.

What touched me most was when she said, “God designed these intricate systems in our bodies. Understanding them better helps us steward them well.”

That’s when Brother Robert quoted 1 Corinthians 6:19 about our bodies being temples of the Holy Spirit. He admitted he’d felt guilty about always being tired, like he was failing God. Realizing there might be a biological reason—and a God-given solution—felt like an answered prayer.

By the end of the evening, 32 people signed up for a new monthly group we’re calling “Temple Care Fellowship.” We’ll meet to pray, share testimonies, and learn together. Several people exchanged phone numbers to be accountability partners.

What struck me most was the spirit of honesty. Nobody was selling anything or making wild promises. People simply shared their struggles—fatigue, brain fog, lack of energy—and their desire to serve God with excellence for as long as He gives us.

Sister Grace summed it up beautifully: “Whether we take supplements or not, we’re learning to care for our bodies as an act of worship—and we’re doing it together.”

My Personal Takeaway

Driving home, I realized something profound: for too long, the church has separated physical and spiritual health, as if God only cares about our souls. Tonight reminded me that God cares about the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

I’m personally encouraged to begin my own journey with cellular health support. Not because I think it’s magic, but because I want to steward this temple faithfully for whatever years God gives me. And I’m grateful I don’t have to do it alone—I have a whole church family walking this path with me.

“Lord, thank You for a church that cares for the whole person. Thank You for wisdom through both Scripture and science. Help us honor You with our bodies while keeping our eyes fixed on eternal things.”
